Message from the EAM President
Ed Christensen, Monmouth University

There is a lot going on within the EAM!  I just returned from a visit with some of our colleagues in Hartford visiting potential hotels for the 2009 meeting.  Proposals will soon go to the Board for that meeting as well as for the 2010 meeting which is being targeted for Portland, ME.  But the real fervor is centered upon our meeting in May of this year.  Liz Davis (VP of Local Arrangements) and Laurel Goulet (VP Program) are putting together the pieces for the May meeting which promises to be a fantastic one.  I visited the hotel in December and we’ll have a good meeting in Crystal City, to be sure.  The preliminary program and events at the meeting promise to deliver the type of program we at EAM have come to expect and beyond, but I’ll let the Liz and Laurel tell you the details.

Another exciting hive of activity surrounds our move to publish OMJ with Palgrave Macmillan which, by all accounts, promises to be an exciting rollout beginning with the next issue.   You’ll be hearing much more from Bill Ferris and the Palgrave crew shortly.

We are also busily getting ready for nominations and elections, marking our second year of electronic voting.  EAM succeeds due to the involvement of our members in varied roles (e.g, authors, presenters, reviewers, track chairs, local arrangements, directors, and many other positions of leadership) that they play.  Step up, be involved, and continue our legacy as an outstanding regional affiliate of the Academy of Management.  Together, we can make EAM stronger than ever.

I hope that all of you are having a great spring semester and I look forward to seeing you in May.
