| You are invited to attend the Eastern Academy of Management 2000 Conference to be held Thursday through Saturday, May 11-13, at the Sheraton Ferncroft Resort in Danvers, Massachusetts on the scenic and historic Boston North Shore. The theme of the conference is Profits and People: The Human Rights Challenge in Organizations which reflects the commitment of the EAM community to the creation of knowledge and the discussion of organizational needs and achievements in this area. In addition to the Theme Track and high- quality conceptual and empirical papers, we have an exciting program of Showcase Sessions, Dialogue and Synergy Discussions, and Experiential Learning Exercises. Challenging presentations on international business and human rights are also featured. Special opportunities for professional development are available in our doctoral consortium. Doctoral students at all levels of study are invited. |
Among our notable events are panels of outstanding academic speakers as well as thought- provoking symposia presented by business executives. Academic speakers include: Roy Adams (Mc Master University and founder of the Society for the Promotion of Human Rights in Employment); Anne Huff (Past President of the Academy), University of Colorado; Sheila Puffer, (Editor of the Academy of Management Executive), Northeastern University; and Gary Powell, University of Connecticut. Executive speakers include Eileen Fisher, CEO of Eileen Fisher Clothing; Betty MacKnight, Global Procurement Organization, Vice President, Lucent Technology, Inc.; and Corey Surette, District Director, Wage & Hour Division, United States Department of Labor. Our affiliates also provide many opportunities for learning and socializing. The Case Association will be conducting writing workshops. The Experiential Learning Association will showcase innovative designs for classrooms and training. The Women's Network offers opportunities to connect with colleagues in a friendly and supportive setting.
