| Roy Adams (Ph.D. University of Wisconsin) is an avid mountaineer, scuba
diver and emeritus professor of industrial relations at McMaster University
in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications
including seven books and monographs, more than two dozen book chapters,
and 40 plus articles in peer-reviewed journals.
In conjunction with his work in comparative industrial relations, industrial relations theory, vocational training, and the analysis of labour policy, Adams has been a visiting professor at 13 universities or institutes in Australia, Canada, the United States, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland, France, Hungary, China and Japan. He has also been an invited speaker at institutions in Germany, Hong Kong, Thailand, Britain, Turkey, South Africa, Fiji, Jamaica, Taiwan and The Netherlands and currently serves on the editorial board of eight professional journals located in five different countries. A past president of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association, Adams served as Canadian Pacific Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto in 1990 and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Western Australia in 1996. He is the 1997 recipient of the Gerard Don Award of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association for "outstanding contributions to knowledge of Canadian and international industrial relations." Consultant to various labour organizations, governments and quasi-governmental agencies such as the International Labour Organization, between 1990 and 1999 Adams wrote and distributed the Comparative Industrial Relations Newsletter which was widely praised for its innovative approach to cross-national, interdisciplinary communication on labour issues. Adams was also an original developer of the International Employee Relations Network, the internet discussion group of the International Industrial Relations Association for which he served as senior list manager from 1993-1998. He also founded the Comparative Industrial Relations Research and Teaching Society for which he continues to serve as co-chair. He was also instrumental in the establishment of the International Section of the Industrial Relations Research Association and, in 1996, served as that organization's first president. During the fall of 1997, Adams became one of the founding members of the Society for the Promotion of Human Rights in Employment and is currently serving as the chair of that Society's steering committee. |

| Mark Konrad, Alison Konrad, and Claudia Harris in a symposium
on the "Mexican Golf War." The compelling story of the extraordinary
fight of ordinary people to keep their land when threatened with confiscation
to allow a resort hotel to be built. The EAM is pleased to have two of the
original activists, Maria Rosas and Raul Benet from Tepoztlan, Mexico to
give a first hand narrative of their experiences taking on a multinational
corporation.
Eileen Fisher, CEO of Eileen Fisher Clothing in a dialog with Susan Schor on the challenges of running a corporation committed to comfort, simplicity, elegance, and quality both in the clothes she designs and in the work atmosphere of the company. Mr. Cory Surette of the U.S. Dept of Labor will be on hand to talk about the nature of human rights abuses and remedies in the US workplace. Other cool stuff Betty MacKnight - Global Procurement VP of Lucent Technology will speak on encouraging entrepreneurial innovation in a multinational corporation. Gary Powell will offer a "hands on" workshop on designing experiential exercises. The CASE Association is offering a case embryo workshop as well as VIP sessions in case writing. tennis, and golf gear (and spouse or family) and prepare to have a very
good time. In keeping with the setting, casual business wear will be encouraged

Our Local Arrangements Committee has also put together tour of famous (and infamous) Salem, a Duck Tour of Boston, and the option of taking in a play in Boston on Friday night.
