Technology and Innovation Track Chair
Greetings techies (and soon-to-be techies). These are certainly exciting times in the area of technology and innovation management. Business institutions are being confronted with shrinking cycles of new product and process development, the expanding use of the Internet and computer systems, and increasing sophistication of global communications and management networks.

Academic institutions are not immune to these trends, as technology continues to change the way we teach our classes, conduct research, and even organize our conferences. The Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) track at the EAM is attempting to respond to the many new developments in this field. This year we have received twice as many submissions as the previous year which (we hope) will continue to spark your interest. In Danvers, TIM is sponsoring six sessions which address themes of managing information, web-based teaching, e-commerce, mainstream innovation management, and knowledge management. Research papers examine TIM-based issues at several levels of analyses, ranging from individual characteristics, social roles, organizational capacity, executive leadership, and national culture.

We are also are proud to include Betty MacKnight from Lucent Technology as a guest speaker. So feel free to attend one or more of our sessions at EAM 2000, and we invite you to submit your research to us for EAM 2001!.
