Eastern Academy of Management (EAM) is pleased to introduce Learn & Share, a series of moderated discussions on topics of interest to our members. We welcome you regardless of your experience with teaching (either new to teaching or about to retire).

The benefits of using team projects in management courses are legion.  They range from giving students a context for practicing communication, collaboration, problem solving, planning, time management and teamwork skills, among others.  And students can learn a lot from each other as they work actively together to accomplish a goal.  Yet, students often complain about these assignments, citing unequal efforts, interpersonal conflict, poor group dynamics, and other significant problems.  How can we as faculty maximize the benefits derived from teamwork, while minimizing the potential downsides in a way that does not put additional stressors on our own time?  Join us to learn some effective strategies and share your own tips and tricks for successful team projects.
