President-Elect

R. Gabrielle (Gabby) Swab

Gabby currently serves as the Vice President of Program. She joined the Parker College of Business in Fall 2022. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi in 2019. Her research interests intersect the organizational behavior and entrepreneurship domains, where she focuses on competition in teams, start-ups, and family firms. She has published in highly regarded academic journals such as the Journal of Organizational Behavior and Journal of Business Research. She has experience in teaching leadership, entrepreneurship, and strategic management and currently serves as sponsorship chair for the Southern Management Association. Gabby is highly involved in the board game industry, co-founding the Association of Gaming Academics, where she promotes the use of gaming as experiential learning in higher education. Her industry experience includes technology, sales, and project management.

Vice President of Program-Elect

In addition to duties enacted only in the absence of the VP of Program, the VP of Program-Elect is expected to sign an annual statement of the Conflict-of-Interest policy (Article VIII of the Bylaws), and: 

  • have experience with research and reviewing academic research manuscripts
  • develops a call for papers (venue, dates, theme) for the next year’s conference and secures board approval 
  • distributes the call for papers for next year’s conference at the prior year's conference  
  • interacts with vendors at the conference to cultivate relationship for subsequent year 
  • actively participates on committees (e.g., site selection committee, sponsorship committee) as requested by the President or Board
  • identifies and coordinates “EAM Learn and Share” virtual events
  • The Vice President of Program-Elect shall perform other duties as advised by the Vice President of Program. The Vice-President of Program-Elect succeeds to the office of Vice-President of Program after the Vice President of Program's term of office is completed or vacated, no later than the conclusion of the annual meeting or July 1st of the fiscal year, whichever comes first. 

Qualifications: 

  • The Vice President of Program-Elect must be an EAM member in good standing for at least two years and have served in various EAM conference-related roles such as a reviewer, track chair, session chair, local arrangements chair or committee member, any other ad hoc conference-related committee chair or member. 
  • The Vice President of Program-Elect must have made scholarly contributions in the field of Management and have experience with research and reviewing academic research manuscripts


Director of Communications

Director in charge of communication and social media will:

  • Post all relevant information from EAM and OMJ in social media outlets (LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter)
  • Publish the newsletter EAM Insight and send to all EAM contacts in October and March
  • Oversee all aspects of EAM’s website, including strategy, content, maintenance, and digital presence


Director of Publications

Director in charge of Publications will be

-Liaison to the Board for all matters related to EAM publications

-Responsible for preparing and publish annual conference proceedings based on input and materials received from VP-Program.
